7) User Edit Screen Where You Update Content

The Page Edit Screen appears after the user logs in successfully and selects which page they want to update. Each Flypage Tag will be located on the HTML page by the program and its current contents will be placed inside the corresponding edit boxes. All the Flypage Tags that are on the specific HTML page will show up on a single Page Edit Screen. To make a change to any of the contents all the user has to do is to retype what they want the new content to contain. Once the content has been entered or changed the user simply has to click "post changes" button and the entire HTML page will be rewritten on the server with the new content in place. It will be immediately avialable to anyone that calls up the web page on the internet. If HTML code is used inside the edit box the HTML button underneath the edit box needs to be selected.

On the graphic above we have called up the web page which includes the Flypage Tag v001 as detailed on the previous pages in this presentation. As you see the edit box contents currently contain the text "Monthly Specials For May 2001". The instructional text located in the config.txt file corresponding to the v001 tag is "Main Headline For This Page" and appears above the edit box.

POINTS TO REMEMBER
  • The Flypage Updater program reads in the current content from the live web page to fill the edit boxes when first calling up the Edit Page Screen.
  • You can update/change the content as often as you need.
  • The HTML Web page is updated instantly upon clicking the "post changes" button.
  • You can call up the Page Edit Screen and quit without changes if you decide to leave the page as found.
  • You can use standard text or HTML in the edit boxes, if you use HTML Code then click on the HTML button underneath that edit box
